Grand Traverse County

Grand Traverse County partnered with Corbin Design to create a cohesive and modern signage system for its network of county parks. The previous signage varied across locations and featured an outdated brand identity, resulting in an inconsistent user experience. The new system brings clarity, consistency, and a strong visual connection to the county’s
natural character.

Drawing inspiration from the local landscape, the new signs feature a palette of green, gold, and rustic brown. Materials such as weathering Corten steel and wood were chosen for their durability and ability to complement the natural surroundings. Each sign integrates the updated Grand Traverse County brand to reinforce a unified presence across the park system. The system also utilizes amenity symbols consistent with Traverse City Park and TART Trail signs in the region.

To support the diverse needs of individual park sites, the signage design incorporates multiple panel configurations. These allow for flexible tenant identification, recognition of county partnerships, and future adaptability as park programming evolves. The result is a welcoming and recognizable signage system that enhances the visitor experience and reinforces Grand Traverse County’s investment in its public spaces.
