After 30 years of providing pediatric care within Tacoma General Hospital, MultiCare Health System identified the need for a standalone children’s hospital to serve the region. Building on our longstanding relationship with MultiCare, Corbin Design developed the signage system for the new Mary Bridge Children’s Hospital—a six-story, 262,114-square-foot facility with 82 licensed beds and a pediatric emergency department.
Working closely with ESa, we created signage standards that give Mary Bridge a distinct identity while maintaining a clear connection to MultiCare’s existing sign system. The design uses an APCO product already familiar to MultiCare’s facilities team.
Each floor features a different Pacific Northwest landscape theme, which we extended into the signage through distinctive animals and colors. These elements reinforce each floor’s identity and provide recognizable visual cues to help patients and families find their way.
