This is a great article on a number of U.S.-based health systems and their success (or not) in merging to position themselves for future changes. In each instance, it doesn’t come down to dollars and cents. Instead, it comes down to the culture of each institution, and whether the proposed future state will actually work in practice:

As the University of Nebraska-Lincoln rolls out their Campus Master Plan, they are building campus boundary markers and entrance features specified in Corbin Design’s wayfinding recommendations.
