Cameron Memorial Community Hospital

Angola, IN

As an independent, not-for-profit hospital serving a growing community of 30,000, Cameron Memorial expanded their hospital to meet increased regional demand for healthcare services.

Their 110,000 sf of new facilities includes a state of the art imaging center, a new Main Entrance and a new Emergency Department. We provided temporary wayfinding as construction phases progressed.

The new additions have resulted in intuitive public pathways for patients and visitors. Wayfinding is supported with simple language and a new standard for signage.

Exterior signage is designed to accurately depict the brand, and to provide maximum legibility for both drivers and pedestrians.

Driven by the surrounding design, the interior signage includes a touch of the brand color. Customized using a metal flake paint and a graphic “slice” that creates a subtle shadow and highlight, the signage communicates quietly and clearly.

The patient room ID sign is the result of collaboration: Nursing staff expressed a need for patient condition messages at each room entry; the solution allows nurses to pull the required information using the colored tab and insert it behind the sign lens. Graduated sizes allow two or three messages to be displayed at once. Each ADA-compliant room sign features a customizable image as well.
