Bryan-College Station, TX
The twin cities of Bryan and College Station, TX (B-CS) have gained recognition as one of the top 10 best metro areas for relocating families in the US. With a combined population of over 130,000, B-CS has many of the amenities of a large city while maintaining a small-town atmosphere. Add to this the excitement of Texas A&M, and you’ve got a region that attracts all types of residents and visitors.
Because the project was a combination of two cities, Brazos County and Texas A&M, the director of the local Convention & Visitors Bureau foresaw the need for regional wayfinding to connect visitors to destinations and events. He became the unifying force that held a very diverse team together. Working closely with the teams he’d assembled, we were able to set and meet project and design objectives with key stakeholders. This is why we say “every project needs a champion.”
As the program design moved forward, we saw that most of the signage would be placed along roadways controlled by Brazos county or the State. In order to advocate the program to the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT), our client applied and was appointed to the TxDOT wayfinding committee.
This type of internal commitment combined with Corbin Design’s national expertise has led B-CS to a successful wayfinding plan.
