Corbin Design has developed interior, exterior and parking signage standards for Scripps Health facilities.
Major construction projects—five parking structures at four Scripps hospitals and a clinic—spurred the healthcare delivery network to seek coordinated signage, to better convey the Scripps identity and present a more unified appearance to the public. The system design resulted from "thinking outside the box" of traditional sign design. Curved tops and bottoms soften the appearance, while perforated metal sides on illuminated signs let light spill out from the sides, helping them stand out.
Parking signage uses a series of custom icons based on local features to identify garages and their individual floors.
The interior signage was designed with two color palettes—one warm and one cool—to give interior designers more flexibility. Customized background patterns help the interior signage coordinate with the decor of any facility.
