Wayfinding on an academic campus serves many audiences—students and applicants, their parents, alumni, faculty, staff and visitors to academic and athletic events. By defining campus boundaries, a well-designed wayfinding system helps to establish a sense of place while conveying the institution's identity to the surrounding community. |
It delineates vehicular and pedestrian paths, helping to improve security by directing visitors along assigned pathways and pointing out safety features like shelters and phones. And, of course, the identification signs that help make up the wayfinding system designate the location of academic destinations for students heading to class and visitors attending events. |
Our decades of working with academic campuses have given us world-class experience in meeting the needs of educational audiences, developing wayfinding systems, standards and master plans that express and enhance the character of the academic institutions themselves. We're proud to note that 20 of our 25 educational clients are listed on U.S. News and World Report's 2009 ranking of America's Best Colleges. |
