Doug first joined Corbin Design in 1999 following two years with a branding consultancy in Denver, Colorado. As a formally trained graphic designer, he considers his job to problem-solve and render the best solution for each client. He feels fortunate to use his abilities in a variety of ways. In the United States Army, he was responsible for tactical mapping and graphics to support operations planning, including duty during Operation Desert Storm.
Although his focus is currently wayfinding projects he also has experience in print design, branding and identity standards, and web site design. At Corbin Design he finds the job of organizing information, analyzing complex environments, and designing systems to help people navigate to their intended destination interesting and challenging.
Additionally, he considers himself a student for life. Throughout the years he’s expressed this energy by learning and enjoying many skills including; mountain biking, skiing, archery, sailing, rock climbing, fencing and stained-glass design.
He graduated Magna Cum Laude from Ferris State University with a degree in visual communication.
